Organization of grand opening of the hypermarket consisted of three parts: announcement of the event, the event for mass media and official opening of the hypermarket for the general public.

Announcement of opening was started 3 days before the event. Promoters distributed promotional and advertising materials at the stops of public conveyances, near key underground railway stations, in the places of accumulation of large number of people.

On 11th of March 2010 the press conference with top-managers of Praktiker Ukraine Company was organized in the apartment of the hypermarket for representatives of mass media.   Tasks of the agency were: informing mass media by means of press-anons about the coming event, accreditation of journalists, distribution of personal invitations with date, time and place of gathering, transfer to the place of opening of the building materials hypermarket, preparation of press kits with informational materials about the company.

Image film about Praktiker, its history, interesting facts regarding its activity was demonstrated for journalists before beginning of the press conference. After the event representatives of the company carried out the excursion of the hypermarket, during which journalists could make sure of main advantages of the hypermarket in comparison with its competitors: balanced range of goods and properly European service. This event caused broad resonance in business, social and political and specialized editions. More than 40 journalists visited the press conference.

On 12th of March official opening of the hypermarket was realized. After ceremony of consecration of the hypermarket its general manager Michael Trapp pronounced solemn speech and cut ribbon. Besides honorary guests, representatives of city administration, Kyivers were presented at the occasion. Guests congratulated townsmen with opening of the new market of the European class and wished them pleasant buying. Nice surprises expected for Kyivers: free treat with tea and coffee, a memorable present for the first buyer.
